Default S2, why are you expecting BvB to only be a couple of weeks?

I'm not trying to complain. but what makes you think that BvB will only take a couple of weeks when HvH took like 2 or 3 months (i can't remember but it was longer than 2 weeks!). Where a lot of the bugs from HvH also fixed in BvB already? or is it a whole new set of bugs?

Yet another complaint of time when it hasn't even happened yet!! Is it a sin to not HOPE for something good?

Likely HvH alpha was to get out the majority of engine flaws. Which is why it took some time. BvB should be issues just partaining to beasts, rather then the engine as a whole, with some more performance boosts here or there. Thus it will take less time

It is a valid point that he brings up. He is only curious and if you ask me he is not complaining at all.

I think that covers it.

Like Flac said, this is probably only a balancing phase, and possibly a very minor stress test phase. call me that gullible trusting guy, but I rather believe in this estimate. (Of course, I've believed in most other estimates given by S2 as well, but there's something different about this one. These old bones feel a change in the wind. I can sense the coming of the storm... )

The bug commander's strategy relies on sneak garrisons and sometimes you just never see it comin!

BvB is polish and balancing phase for the beast race. The HvH testing was FAR more in depth and the game was in far worse shape (thus not letting in the 1000 we just let in). The HvH Alpha was working out engine bugs, core game play mechanics / bugs, and polishing and balancing the HvH gameplay.

The BvB "should" go quickly and we can move on to HvB final beta phase which will include:

- Engine Optimizations (could get ugly here and there from these)
- HvB Balace (this is going to be steady work for me)
- Human and Beast mechanics verification: do they all make sense and work together properly.
- Minor art / graphical / sound / interface polish

This phase should last 3-4 weeks. Again, we expect an Oct 15 launch of the game.

GREAT ANSWER! I think you should win a prize Mal! unfortunatley i have nothing to offer. Well, I guess i would be willing to alpha/beta test your game free of charge!
