I understand. I have dreams of resurrecting this game. I want to make a fun mod that makes Savage into something new, kinda like what DoTA did. All I need is to be equipped and I'll be a-okay. The biggest problem I'm having is there's no way to save what you're modded on a local server - once you log off it's all gone forever. I'm not really sure how I can bypass this... I will also eventually need to make a map and to do that I have to get my hands on a working version of the K2 editor. That would be a huge struggle...

Hey there!

Actually, there IS a way to save all settings on local! You can either do a cvarlist before closing, the open mydocuments/savage2/game/console.log to copy-paste, or use those ugly scripts I made.

DL http://pastebin.com/1WTmYDEi and http://pastebin.com/5gkJS4wm
Save in "mydocuments/savage2/game/snap/" as "save.cfg" and "load.cfg"
Then in console give "Exec ~/snap/save.cfg" to save, and "Exec ~/snap/load.cfg" to restore
If restoring crashes, remove the lines with small-case letters, so it only restores unit settings etc

If you need any help whatsoever, gimme a whisper.

That's odd. Apparently the search result pages expire. Anyway, what I searched for was "editor crash", titles only. You'll probably find something useful in those threads.

Yeah I did find that thread on how to fix the crash. Unfortunately, the link is long-expired. So I think the fix has been lost forever in the confines of the interbutts. Quite unfortunate.

Just install via the 2.1.0.7 installers. Fixes are incorporated there.
