ok. i would really like to get the sounds there with me!
how is that possible ?
you have to modify the script a bit. however, i'd suggest you don't let glc capture the audio, but rather add it from a separate stream. glc has hooks for some audio-libs, but in the end you might just end up in unsatisfying configuration-trouble here. simply use the means of your audio-system to record the stream and encode it with mencoder. you can join the two streams later.
Hey - i want to improve the quality of the capture a bit. my whomping machine has huge problems to play at a constant framerate when recording. Do you know any improvements that I can make to get a constant framerate while recording?
Also I just try to get the conversion done in higher quality so that the videos are worth watching . Maybe anyone already altered the script to a better video-quality, so I could save my time figuring out it by myself

the recording-fps are fixed at 15 in this script. it doesn't matter if your game-fps are jumpy, as long as you don't drop below 15. if you drop below them, i'd say forget about recording anyways.
as for the encoding: i think it's better than justin.tv :P
But it has serious problems keeping up and the fps are below 15 fps i think (didnt find a command to check this)
set host_drawfps 1
in the ctrl+f8-console
regarding your machine:
GET SOME SWAP, MAN! the kernel does funny things without swap, so give it some. you should be fine with 500MB, but to be save just take 1.5*RAM
as for the rest: looks good. i have a slightly weaker but comparable setup. to encode while playing, i need to go down to 1024x768 and turn off most shiny things, though. encoding is really hard work! (i know what i'm speaking of, i had to manually encode with jpeg in an exam.)
