Thanks for the feedback Strider, and everyone else. I didn't even bother with foilage since I never have it turned on anyway, makes me lag. I just started this map over from scratch, it's much larger and the main bases look much better when commanding. I also added a gold mine in the middle of the mountains.

Def needs fog, and foliage as strideys said. With the hellshrine area, the rocks on the edge dont really match IMO. Use a darker textured rock.

Also, the blending of the charred area with the contrasting green grass needs a bit of work; the colour tool with a light brush will go well here.

Also, as myth states but doesn't incorporate into his maps is the fact that the mountain walls are square'ish.

Don't worry about npc's. Leave them till last. They neither make a map nor break it.

Lastly, you need to work on the hills. It seems quite flat and open.

Edit: Also the mountain borders texture 2 needs a lot of work. the layer 1 grass should go halfway up the hill; the brown whatever in the walkable space is just icky :P

Nice tips Kelham. I have been working on the mountains alot, and it definately feels less like a square. The elevation varies more as well, looks much nicer.

The mountains higher up look awesome, but where the mountain meets the floor the brush is too strong. You do know there is a strength slider on the top of the screen?

Try to make it more like this:

Also, the environmental orbs are way too bright.

I see your point, I wonder why I didn't catch that myself at first...

I also have a little problem,

"hwo does foilages works"

It doesn't let me place any foilage at all, is there a fix to this or am I doing something wrong?

Use the ''lazy'' tool and look closely to the terrain.
Open up the console F8+ctrl and enter Scene_foliagedrawdistance 3000 for a better overview.
