Starting tomorrow, Friday Aug 1 Steam will be selling Savage 2 for $9.99 ($20 discount) all weekend long.

We are putting up 1 EU, 1 UK, and 2 US Beginner Servers to help ease the influx of new players into Savage 2. We're going to get a Steam IM blast and special promotion to push the heavy discount.

It means when you log into steam, a steam update news window pops up with the latest deals and news about games. There will be a big splash visble to anyone who logs on to steam about the game.

This could definitely help with people who may be on the fence about the game. I recently bough bioshock last weekend when it was half off. I probably wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

It's gonna be a little annoying for them to realize that one rune costs the same as the game. BTW what was wrong with just saying 10 $? For any non-american buyers the change in currency from one day to another is gonna be bigger than 1 cent.

A "Steam IM blast" is the exposure steam gives via their news pop up when you first login.

Steam knows about it and is coordinating it... we can't announce something like this without running it through Steam.
