Well...do range, just remember to melee when enemies are right next to you...and remember to move into melee range while using range...So range by all means, just dont depend on it.

Will the next patch also include a new version of the Practice map so that players can play Hunter and Maliken without having to use the console? I actually changed the xml file in an attempt to do that, and it worked (sent the whole s2z file to a few of the devs).

Don't expect this to be the same success as the steam pricing. Steam is huge and has thousands of visitors every day. S2games only have a few and most of them already have the game.
That depends on how you define success. Players that buy $10 games through steam usually do so on a whim and are quick to jump over to the next bargain. People that actually come to the savage2 website through genuine interest are much more likely to stick around longer if they buy the game. Good move.
