Default Team Deathmatch

Presenting the deathmatch game mode !

The objective is very simple, kill everyone from the other team in to win the round.
When the round cap is reached (10 by default) the team wins the game.

Each team has it's base building, you probably won't be able to bring it down but the gold per hit was increased, this way you can harvest it for gold if you're poor but you also have to protect your own base to keep enemies from doing the same.

All items are lost uppon death but if you survive the round the enduring items (non-consumable) will stay with you.

Stuff changed:
- No Commander
- Removed Siege and Hellbourne
- Removed the prerequisites from units, skills and items (build skill was removed)
- Doubled every unit's HP
- Reduced sight of the main base, eyes, bats and players by half
- Removed officer aura and buffs

Check out the preview over at s2howto: http://s2howto.com/blog/64-preview-deathmatch

The mod is currently hosted on Ero's Team Deathmatch.
Thanks a lot Ero !

I leave you with some screenshots (taken by Petzi) from the currently only tdm map, Night Wind:

Wow the maps look extremly well done! can't wait to check it out...although I'm not so much a fan of TDM. But probably not too bad for practice.

Ohh, god... Those maps are horribly pretty, but they'll be pitch black for me. I can't play with shader settings on max, so I only have the sun and ambient light to rely on. No dynamic lights. Meaning darkness galore.

Donut, why don't you just download 1.5.1, ready available in one of the threads above this, and use that editor? That's what all the rest of us are doing.

Just don't forget to backup your configurations file or the old version will overwrite them... and you have to rebind all the keys and stuff. Minor annoyance, but I forgot to do it.

New maps will be finished shortly, i still need to fix some blockers and some minor texture bugs.
I ll try to improve the enviroment for those who dont have the shader effects and dynamic lights turn on.
As for the editor, Install 1.5.1 version of Savage 2 on a diffrent folder.

Because its 30 mins I could be using to make a map. Scratch that, TWO HOURS. I'm not going to spend two hours of my time just to work-around S2's laziness.

Even then, the foliage needs to be fixed in that version of the editor as well.

Um. You do know that downloading a file is something that happens automatically, right? You can start downloading it, play the game until it's done, then install it. No time wasted. You could start downloading it before going to bed. Or in the morning while you eat breakfast. While you go to watch TV or eat dinner. Or take a shower.

You don't have to sit and stare silently at the screen while downloading it!

And what's this about foliage that needs fixing? I haven't noticed anything?

It doesn't take two hours. Open the texture .s2z, extract the world/terrain textures (not the negatives) and you have the main problem solved. If you want, I can post my UI fix to revert back to the old, working minimap. Those are the pretty much the 2 biggest issues.
