BvB beta including with Linux client?
Hey guys,
I preordered in April 2006 and have a account number under 1000.
So I hopefully will be one of the happy people with a beta account.
As I don't have a copy of windows, I'd like to know if the beta already will contain the Linux-client.
I'm looking forward to good news
Greets,
thomasg

A couple of people had the alpha/pre-beta working under wine, but there is no native linux client as of yet. :(

When they made the announcement i actually talked to maliken about it because i was curious as well. As haven said, no linux native client yet. Apparently the openGL driver is being more stubborn than they had anticipated, but they are doing their best to make it all come together.
I am hoping cedega/wine will be able to handle it, im in the same boat, no windows installed(though my room mate has a copy i could technically install it, but not sure if i really want to)
anywho, keep the faith, it will come. Native linux games are worth waiting for

Linux can be a nice alternative to Windows, assuming that you have the patience to learn the command line :\

You mean you will have time for anything else other than Savage 2 once it's released?
Nah, seriously speaking (for you fellas who seem to have time to spend on computer games), you can get quite a number of gaming working under wine and Cedega (emulating environments), and often, they'll run at the same speed as they would have in windows.
As for what the purpose of linux is, play around with a Xubuntu distribution with beryl/kompiz on top, and you'll see.
And nope, knowledge of the command line is not mandatory

It certainly doesn't hurt though.
Linux (much like Unix) is very user-friendly. It just is really picky about its friends.
Beryl rocks socks.
